My Hiking List
Hello ladies and gentleman,
I thought of providing a list of the items I take with me when I go hiking.
I usually obviously wear sports clothing.
The backpack I use is from the brand Woods that I bought at a Canadian Tire Store, it came with a water bag.
I DO NOT bring any sort of sandals, regular shoes or snickers. I always wear my hiking boots from the brand Keen that I bought in an Atmosphere store.
If it is a little bit cold I bring a rain jacket or wind jacket. I also like to bring an extra pair of socks in case mine get wet (special hiking socks not just any kind of socks your feet will thank you).
I wear glasses, so I usually use contact lenses when hiking, because the glasses get foggy and it is hard for me to see the path.
I bring an extra battery (do not forget the cable) for charging my phone just in case it dies and I need to call 911.
I bring a head lamp, in case it gets dark on my way back and I cannot see the path.
I bring my hiking poles that I found at the dollar store, but ONLY for steep hikes, because I do not like carrying them around.
I bring a blanket sheet that I found at the dollar store as well, super light, and in case that I get strangled in the mountain I have some cover while waiting for help.
I bring a whistle (some bring bells), because I try to keep wild animals FAR FAR AWAY from me.
I bring a kit aid, with some band aids and pain killers, the basic survival kit. I am sure you can find one at the dollar store too.
I also bring several energy bars and obviously lots of water.
For Bear protection, I bring bear spray and a horn.
I have thought of buying some GPS system device, because most of the times there is no reception in the mountain and just in case you get lost you can send a signal with it, still trying to find the best option.
And for photography, depending on the hike and weather I will bring my Canon camera, but I will always bring my GoPro.
Please be smart and be safe when you are going hiking.
If you are hiking alone, please let someone know where you are going.
